Open Call for Artists

Calico Projects is putting out an open call for South-East London Artists for a one-day event at Manor House. On June 20th Manor House will host a ‘Fringe’ to the famous Manor House Gardens Festival, turning the building and grounds into a showcase for local talent. We are seeking three categories of creatives:

  1. Fine Artists (Painters, Printmakers etc) who wish to take one of 16 booths at Manor House and man their own pitch. (pitch fee applies)
  2. Paintings, Prints, Sculptures and other fine arts sumbmitted for sale or auction within our shop space.
  3. Crafts and textiles – creatives who wish to take one of 10 pitches on the grounds, selling from a ‘car boot’ style set up. (pitch fee applies)

We are also welcoming donations to be sold at a closed bid auction

The event will take place on the same day as Manor House Gardens Festival, guaranteeing a footfall of local people. We will also have workshop events and artist’s talks in Manor House on the day. The festival itself will have its usual mix of fairground rides and entertainments, a section of stalls, food offerings, beer tent and a range of performances on the stage.

Please use the submission portal below to express your interest.

Category 1 fine artists will pay a nominal £50 fee for their pitch, and a fully refundable deposit to ensure they abide by the terms and conditions of the event. They will need to set up on the night before or early in the morning of the event. They must pack up on the evening of the event or the next morning. They may bring their own card readers to process payments, or use the house card reader for a 10% admin fee.

Category 2 artists. There is no pitch fee, artists will supply work during the week before the event, and no later than Thursday 18th June. There is no fee to supply work and all unsold work will be returned without any charges whatsoever. Any sold works will be subject to a 50% fee and should be priced accordingly.

Category 3 artists. Craft and textile artists who would like to sell their work from a car boot style set up in the grounds of Manor House. A £25 pitch fee applies.
